Catch-22 is a charity that works with young
people who find themselves in seemingly impossible situations;
believing that nothing is impossible, help young people to find a
way out of difficult situations and a way up.
The services helps young people to develop the confidence and
skills to find solutions that are right for them - whether it's
getting back into school or training, choosing to stay out of
trouble, finding a safe place to live or helping them to live
independently after leaving care or custody. As young people become
more positive, productive and independent, the whole community
benefits.
Catch-22 has recently joined forces with the National Citizen
Service (NCS), working in partnership to provide young people the
opportunity to make a difference in their lives.
National Citizen Service
If you're in Year 11, National Citizen Service is an
exciting chance to do something different during your summer
holiday. Taking part will let you:
- learn some new skills
- meet new people
- make a real difference to your community or an issue you
care about
National Citizen Service will take place during this summer 2012
after you finish Year 11. It will run for three weeks full-time,
including two weeks away from home. After that, you'll need to
complete another 30 hours on a part-time basis.
Working in a team, you'll have the chance to take part in exciting
outdoor activities like mountaineering, canoeing and
abseiling.
You'll also get the opportunity to design and deliver your own
project in your local community. This could mean working with other
young people to improve the area where you live, benefiting
everyone who lives there.
